I read a newspaper article today here in the Netherlands about the usage of new media in primary/elementary schools. Although the article mentioned a distinct rise in internet and computer use in general, it is currently only used in 26% of all schools. Granted, it has risen from 15% last year, but I still think it

Hello everyone,
Since this is te place to introduce yourself, I'll get started right away! My name is Sanne, I'm from the Netherlands and I am the "creative director" behind lessonsense and it's Dutch version jufsanne.com . I am a mother of two, a girl named Lily and a boy named Jesse. I'm happily married to Jeroen who is making it all possible for you to make use of my ideas. Without him, lessonsense would not be possible. So we are a team, a perfect team I'd like to think. I've been a teacher since 2001 and started to share my ideas in 2002. Lessonsense is one of my younger projects, it's been online for little of 2 years now. My goal is to help people all over the world in making learning fun. I love being a teacher, I am a kindergarten teacher (ages 4 to 6). Although here in the Netherlands it's called 'kleuterschool'. Since the birth of my eldest, I've decided to work part-time. I now work 3 days a week and share my class with my wonderful colleague Puck. That is also a great partnership, a superb team. We are very lucky to have such a unique working relationship. As I said so before I am a kindergartenteacher. This is why my ideas are limited to a young age group. I was happy to find out that my ideas also find their way to teachers who are teaching english as a second language to adults. Therefore, Jeroen and I decided to create another site called www.learningesl.com to create more mature learning materials. That site is still a big work in progress though. On this forum, I'm happy to answer questions, discuss problems or other experiences at school or at home. Also, I'd love to hear and learn from teachers all over the world how things are at your school! I am looking forward to hearing from you! Sanne. |
