What is it?
This game is to practice times tables 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10.
Preparation:
- print out the file (use a colourprinter for a nice
result).
- Cut out the cards with the multiplications on it (See
image 1). Laminate the cards individually.
- Laminate the teacher card as well. (See image
2) Leave this card intact.
- Cut out the Bingosheets or cut paper in half. (See
image 3) Also laminate these cards.
What do you need to play the game?
- Chips or coins (15 chips per student)
How does it work:
- Give each child a Bingosheet and 15 chips.
- Before you start tell the children which row they
have to finish first. There are a couple of options. The
top row, the middle row and the bottom row, in this case
five correct answers are needed. Other options are: the
row with the cow, the row with the horse, the row with
the monkey, the row with the mouse, or the row with the
dog. Here, three correct answers are needed. You can
also indicate two rows. Once a bingo has been called out
you can also play for a full card to finish the game.
- Start calling out time tables by using to cards with
the multiplications on them, for instance: 4 x 5. The
kids have to put a chip or a coin on the correct answer
of this sum.
- The teacher also places the sum on his chart.
- The game continues until one student calls out a
BINGO. The teacher checks the students card. If correct
the student is awarded a small price, like a sticker of
some sort.
- You can continue the game by playing for a full card.
- This game is a guaranteed success, a fun way to learn
times tables so start printing and have fun!
